Canadian novelist and former magazine editor, born in Toronto in 1984 and now based there with her husband and two sons. Fortune trained as a journalist at Toronto Metropolitan University and worked as an editor for Refinery29, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine and Toronto Life before turning to fiction in 2021. Her debut Every Summer After (2022) became a #1 New York Times bestseller; the second-chance summer romance Meet Me at the Lake (2023) was optioned by Archewell for a screen adaptation, and This Summer Will Be Different (2024) and One Golden Summer (2025) have followed. Her novels have been translated into more than thirty languages.
