Brian Joseph Davis is a Canadian writer, filmmaker and digital artist. In 2008 he founded the literary magazine Joyland with the novelist Emily Schultz, and he edits the Retro anthologies drawn from it. He is the author of the collection Portable Altamont and of the novel I, Tania. In 2012 his project The Composites, which used forensic sketch software to draw portraits of literary characters from their descriptions in fiction, was widely covered in the press.
