Bill Mantlo

Bill Mantlo (born 1951 in Brooklyn) is an American comic book writer, active mainly at Marvel Comics from the mid-1970s to the late 1980s. He wrote long runs on The Incredible Hulk, Rom: Spaceknight, The Micronauts, The Spectacular Spider-Man and Alpha Flight, and co-created Rocket Raccoon, Cloak and Dagger, and the White Tiger — comics' first Puerto Rican super hero. He left comics after graduating from Brooklyn Law School in 1987 to work as a public defender in the Bronx. A hit-and-run collision in July 1992 left him with brain damage requiring full-time care.
