Bernardine Evaristo

Bernardine Evaristo is a British Anglo-Nigerian novelist and essayist, born in 1959 in London. She won the 2019 Booker Prize for Girl, Woman, Other, a mosaic of twelve interconnected lives of Black British women, becoming the first Black woman to win the prize. Her other books include Blonde Roots, Mr Loverman, The Emperor's Babe and the memoir Manifesto. She is Professor of Creative Writing at Brunel University London and President of the Royal Society of Literature.
