Antoine Laurain

Antoine Laurain is a French novelist, born in Paris in 1972. He studied film, directed short films and worked as an antique dealer's assistant before publishing his first novel in 2007. His books reached English readers through Gallic Books, beginning with "The President's Hat" (2013) — a fable about a hat left behind in a brasserie that changes the lives of those who wear it — and "The Red Notebook" (2015), followed by "French Rhapsody", "Smoking Kills", "Vintage 1954" and "The Readers' Room" (2020). His novels have been translated into more than twenty languages.
