Alain Le Saux (1936–2015) was a French illustrator, children's author and art director, and the twin brother of the illustrator Philippe Corentin. He helped found the publishing house Champ libre and was art director of the magazine Lui before turning to picture books in the early 1980s. He is remembered for the « Papa m'a dit… » series, which takes French idioms literally, for « Totor et Lili » with his brother, and for « Petit musée », an alphabet book built from details of paintings and made with Grégoire Solotareff, honoured at the Bologna book fair in 1994.
