Akira Yoshida is the pen name under which C. B. Cebulski, then an associate editor at Marvel, wrote comics for the publisher in 2004 and 2005, at a time when its editors were not allowed to be paid for writing. Titles signed with the name include Thor: Son of Asgard, Elektra: The Hand, Kitty Pryde: Shadow and Flame and several other X-Men and Fantastic Four books. Cebulski, who became Marvel's editor-in-chief in 2017, acknowledged the pseudonym that November, after years of denying it; the byline had been presented as that of a Japanese writer, which drew wide criticism when the truth came out.
