Aka Akasaka is a Japanese manga author, born on 29 August 1988 in Sado, Niigata Prefecture. He made his debut in Shueisha’s magazines with “Sayonara Piano Sonata” (2011-2012), then wrote and drew “Ib: Instant Bullet” (2013-2015) and “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War”, serialised in Weekly Young Jump from 2015 to 2022 and awarded the Shogakukan Manga Award in 2020. In 2022 he announced that he would stop drawing in order to concentrate on writing: he is the writer of “Oshi no Ko” (2020-2024), drawn by Mengo Yokoyari, of “Renai Daikō” (2023-2024), drawn by Nishizawa 5mm and published in French as “Love Agency”, and since 2025 of “Märchen Crown”. He works under a pen name and does not appear in public unmasked.
