Abel Lanzac

Abel Lanzac is the pen name of Antonin Baudry, born in 1975, a French diplomat turned writer and film director. Under that name he wrote the two volumes of Quai d'Orsay (2010 and 2011) with artist Christophe Blain, a satirical account of life in a foreign minister's office drawn from his own years at the French foreign ministry; the book won the Fauve d'or for best album at the Angouleme festival in 2013 and was filmed the same year by Bertrand Tavernier. It appeared in English as Weapons of Mass Diplomacy. Baudry later headed the Institut francais and directed his first feature, The Wolf's Call, in 2019.
