Sandra Brown is an American novelist, born in 1948 in Waco, Texas. She studied English at Texas Christian University and worked in television as a weathercaster and feature reporter before turning to fiction in 1981, writing at first under the pen names Rachel Ryan, Laura Jordan and Erin St. Claire. Her work moved from category romance to romantic suspense and thrillers. She has published more than fifty New York Times bestsellers with over seventy million copies in print, served as president of Mystery Writers of America, and was named Thriller Master by International Thriller Writers.
