
Samantha Harvey (born 1975 in Kent) is an English novelist who teaches creative writing at Bath Spa University. Her debut, The Wilderness (2009), won the Betty Trask Prize and was longlisted for the Booker Prize; it was followed by All Is Song (2012), Dear Thief (2014) and The Western Wind (2018), and by the sleep memoir The Shapeless Unease (2020). Her fifth novel, Orbital (2023), which follows six astronauts across a single day aboard the International Space Station, won the 2024 Booker Prize.
