Robert Harris

Robert Harris is a British novelist and journalist, born on 7 March 1957 in Nottingham. He read English at Cambridge, worked for the BBC and “The Observer”, and became political editor of the Sunday Times. His alternate-history debut “Fatherland” (1992), imagining a Nazi Germany victorious in 1964, made his name. He then wrote “Enigma” (1995) and the Cicero trilogy — “Imperium”, “Lustrum” and “Dictator” — as well as political thrillers such as “The Ghost” (2007, adapted by Roman Polanski as “The Ghost Writer”), “Conclave” (2016, filmed in 2024) and “Precipice” (2024).
