Paul Lynch

Paul Lynch is an Irish novelist, born in Limerick in 1977 and raised on the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal. Before turning to fiction he worked as a journalist at The Sunday Tribune, first as deputy chief sub-editor and then as its chief film critic. His first novel, “Red Sky in Morning”, appeared in 2013, followed by “The Black Snow” (2014), “Grace” (2017), winner of the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year award, and “Beyond the Sea” (2019). His books are widely translated, and French readers gave him the Prix Libr’à Nous in 2016 and the Prix Gens de Mer in 2022. In 2023 his fifth novel, “Prophet Song”, set in an Ireland sliding into totalitarianism, won the Booker Prize.
