Kat Martin is an American author of historical romance and romantic suspense, born in Bakersfield, California. She studied anthropology and history at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and worked in real estate before turning to fiction in the late 1980s. She has since written more than sixty novels, published in many languages, among them the Raines of Wind Canyon, Maximum Security and Brodies of Alaska series. She lives in Missoula, Montana, with her husband, the western writer Larry Jay Martin.
