
Joe Quesada, born January 12, 1962 in New York City, is an American comic book artist and publishing executive. He broke through at DC with Batman: Sword of Azrael, written by Dennis O'Neil, then co-founded Event Comics with Jimmy Palmiotti, where the two created Painkiller Jane. Marvel hired the pair in 1998 to launch the Marvel Knights imprint, for which Quesada drew Kevin Smith's Daredevil run. He was Marvel's editor-in-chief from 2000 to 2011, chief creative officer from 2010 to 2019, and executive vice president and creative director until May 2022. Since 2024 he has headed the Amazing Comics imprint, where he co-writes and draws Disciple.
