Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Jennifer Lynn Barnes (born 19 October 1984 in Tulsa, Oklahoma) is an American writer of young adult fiction and a cognitive scientist. She sold her first novels while still an undergraduate at Yale, where she read cognitive science and completed a PhD in 2012; she is now an associate professor of psychology and professional writing at the University of Oklahoma. Her series include Raised by Wolves, The Naturals (2013), The Fixer (2015), the Debutantes books (2018) and The Inheritance Games (2020), whose puzzle-box plot around the teenage heir Avery Grambs continues in The Brothers Hawthorne and The Grandest Game.
