Jeffery Deaver

Jeffery Deaver is an American crime novelist, born on 6 May 1950 in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He studied journalism at the University of Missouri and law at Fordham, worked as a journalist and then as a lawyer, and published his first novel in 1988. His best-known series began in 1997 with “The Bone Collector”, which introduced the quadriplegic forensic criminalist Lincoln Rhyme and was filmed in 1999; the series now runs to seventeen novels. He also writes the Kathryn Dance books, opened by “The Sleeping Doll” (2007), and the Colter Shaw novels, begun in 2019. In 2011 he wrote the James Bond continuation novel “Carte Blanche”. His work has won the Crime Writers' Association's Steel Dagger and the Nero Award.
