Janice Hallett is a British writer, born in 1969, who worked as a magazine editor, journalist and government communications writer before turning to fiction. Her debut mystery, The Appeal (2021), told entirely through emails and messages, was one of the year's biggest debut successes and won the CWA New Blood Dagger; it was followed by the novella The Christmas Appeal and the novel The Silent Appeal. She is also the author of The Twyford Code, The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels, The Examiner and The Killer Question, all playing with documents, puzzles and the reader's own detective work, as well as the children's mysteries beginning with A Box Full of Murders.
