Jane Harper is a British-Australian crime novelist, born in Manchester in 1980. She grew up between England and Victoria, studied English and history at the University of Kent, and worked for thirteen years as a print journalist, latterly at the Herald Sun in Melbourne. Her first novel, “The Dry” (2016), written while she was still a reporter, won the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger in 2017 and introduced the federal investigator Aaron Falk, who returns in “Force of Nature” (2017) and “Exiles” (2022). She has also written the standalone novels “The Lost Man” (2018), “The Survivors” (2020) and “Last One Out” (2025). Several of her books have been adapted for screen.
