Grégoire Polet

Grégoire Polet is a Belgian novelist writing in French, born on 15 April 1978 in Uccle. A doctor of letters of UCLouvain and a Hispanist, he also translates from Spanish and writes television documentaries. His novels, published by Gallimard, carry large casts of sometimes recurring characters and are set in the cities where he has lived — Brussels, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona: "Madrid ne dort pas" (2005), "Excusez les fautes du copiste" (2006), "Leurs vies éclatantes" (2007), "Chucho" (2009), "Les ballons d'hélium" (2012), "Barcelona!" (2015), "Tous" (2017), "Soucoupes volantes" (2021) and "Pax" (2024). He won the Prix Jean Muno in 2005, the Prix Victor-Rossel des jeunes in 2006, the Prix Fénéon in 2007, the Prix Amerigo-Vespucci in 2015 and the Prix Pierre Mac Orlan in 2024.
