Gillian Flynn

Gillian Flynn is an American novelist, born in Kansas City in 1971. She spent about ten years as a critic at Entertainment Weekly before publishing the three thrillers that made her name: "Sharp Objects" (2006), "Dark Places" (2009) and "Gone Girl" (2012). Her books begin with an unreliable woman and a family that lies, and all three reached the screen — "Gone Girl" as David Fincher's 2014 film, from her own screenplay, and "Sharp Objects" as an HBO series in 2018. She also co-wrote "Widows" (2018) with Steve McQueen.
