Frank Miller is an American comics writer and artist, born on 27 January 1957 in Olney, Maryland. He started out in 1978 at Gold Key, then at Marvel, where he took over “Daredevil” in 1979 and created the character Elektra. Moving to DC Comics, he wrote and drew “Ronin” (1983-1984) and “Batman: The Dark Knight Returns” (1986), which reshaped the superhero, and wrote “Batman: Year One” with David Mazzucchelli. At Dark Horse he created “Sin City” (1991-2000), “Martha Washington” with Dave Gibbons and “300” (1998). He also wrote the screenplays for “RoboCop 2” and “RoboCop 3”, co-directed the two “Sin City” films with Robert Rodriguez (2005 and 2014) and directed “The Spirit” (2008). A repeated Eisner Award winner, he entered the Eisner Hall of Fame in 2015.
