Becky Chambers

Becky Chambers is an American science-fiction writer, born on 3 May 1985 in California. She studied theatre at the University of San Francisco. She self-published “The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet” after a Kickstarter campaign in 2014, and the novel was later picked up by Hodder and Harper Voyager; it opened the Wayfarers series of four loosely linked novels about a spacefaring galaxy, which won the Hugo Award for Best Series in 2019. She has since written the Monk & Robot solarpunk novellas — “A Psalm for the Wild-Built” (2021) and “A Prayer for the Crown-Shy” (2022) —, published by Tor.
