Ashley Audrain is a Canadian novelist, born in Newmarket, Ontario, in 1982. Before writing fiction she was publicity director for Penguin Books Canada. Her debut, The Push (2021), a psychological drama told by a mother who fears something is wrong with her daughter, became an international bestseller and was translated into some forty languages. Her second novel, The Whispers (2023), follows four families in one neighbourhood after a child's fall. Both books centre on motherhood, doubt and the pressures of family life.
