Alex Michaelides

Alex Michaelides is a British Cypriot novelist and screenwriter, born in 1977 in Cyprus. He studied English Literature at Trinity College, Cambridge, and Screenwriting at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles, and trained as a psychotherapist before turning to fiction. His debut psychological thriller, The Silent Patient (2019), reached number one on the New York Times bestseller list and has sold in more than fifty countries. He is also the author of The Maidens (2021) and The Fury (2024).
