Terry Pratchett

Terry Pratchett (1948-2015) was an English writer of comic and satirical fantasy. From The Colour of Magic in 1983 to his death, he wrote forty-one Discworld novels, a sequence that grew from parody into a body of social satire and made him one of the most widely read British novelists of his generation. Outside the Discworld he published The Carpet People (1971) and Nation (2008), co-wrote Good Omens with Neil Gaiman in 1990 and The Long Earth with Stephen Baxter. Appointed OBE in 1998, he was knighted for services to literature in 2009.
