Steve Niles

Steve Niles is an American comic book writer, born in New Jersey in 1965. He played bass in the post-hardcore bands Gray Matter and Three and ran the small press Arcane Comix before turning to comics full time. With the artist Ben Templesmith he created 30 Days of Night (IDW Publishing, 2002), a vampire story set during the Alaskan polar night, filmed in 2007 and followed by a long line of sequels and collections; the pair also made Criminal Macabre. He has written Batman: Gotham County Line and Simon Dark for DC Comics, and is credited with helping bring horror comics back to the mainstream.
