Robert Greene (born 1959 in Los Angeles) is an American writer on power, strategy and human behaviour. He took a degree in classical studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and held some fifty jobs — construction worker, translator, magazine editor, Hollywood screenwriter — before meeting the book packager Joost Elffers, with whom he published The 48 Laws of Power in 1998. Six further books followed: The Art of Seduction (2001), The 33 Strategies of War (2006), The 50th Law (2009, written with the rapper 50 Cent), Mastery (2012), The Laws of Human Nature (2018) and The Daily Laws (2021).
