Rick Riordan

Rick Riordan (born 5 June 1964 in San Antonio, Texas) taught English and history in American middle schools for fifteen years before writing full time. He first told The Lightning Thief as a bedtime story for his son; it opened Percy Jackson and the Olympians (2005-2009), which places Greek mythology in the present day. He went on to write The Kane Chronicles, The Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard and The Trials of Apollo, drawing in turn on Egyptian, Roman and Norse myth. Before that he had published the Tres Navarre crime novels for adults. He also curates the Rick Riordan Presents imprint at Disney-Hyperion.
