Pierce Brown is an American science fiction writer, born on 28 January 1988 in Denver, Colorado, and a graduate of Pepperdine University in political science and economics. His first novel, Red Rising (Del Rey, 2014), opens a space opera set on a terraformed Mars whose society is split into colour-coded castes. The saga continues with Golden Son (2015), Morning Star (2016), Iron Gold (2018), Dark Age (2019) and Light Bringer (2023), and a seventh volume, Red God, has been announced. He has also written the Red Rising: Sons of Ares comics for Dynamite Entertainment and the Star Wars short story "Desert Son".
