Marian Keyes is an Irish novelist, born on 10 September 1963 in Limerick. She trained as an accountant and worked in London before publishing her first novel, “Watermelon”, in 1995, opening the loose Walsh sisters series about the five sisters of a Dublin family. She writes contemporary fiction that combines humour with serious subjects — alcoholism, depression, domestic violence — drawing on her own experience. She has written more than a dozen novels, including “Rachel's Holiday” (1997), “Anybody Out There?” (2006), “The Woman Who Stole My Life” (2014) and “Grown Ups” (2020). She is published in the UK by Michael Joseph/Penguin.
