Louise Penny

Louise Penny is a Canadian novelist, born on 1 July 1958 in Toronto. She spent eighteen years as a journalist and radio host with the CBC before turning to fiction. Her first novel, “Still Life” (2005), introduced Chief Inspector Armand Gamache of the Sûreté du Québec and the fictional village of Three Pines, and won the Arthur Ellis, Anthony, Barry and Dilys awards. The series has since run to more than twenty volumes and has brought her several Agatha Awards. She co-wrote the political thriller “State of Terror” with Hillary Clinton in 2021. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2013 and an Officer of the National Order of Quebec in 2017; the Gamache novels were adapted for television as “Three Pines” in 2022.
