American filmmaker, actor and podcaster, born on 2 August 1970 in Red Bank, New Jersey. He broke through with Clerks in 1994 and went on to direct Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back and Clerks II. He also writes comics: Guardian Devil, the Daredevil arc drawn by Joe Quesada that relaunched the title for Marvel in 1998, the Green Arrow run that brought Oliver Queen back for DC in 2001, and the Batman miniseries The Widening Gyre.
