Ken Follett

Ken Follett is a Welsh novelist, born on 5 June 1949 in Cardiff. He read philosophy at University College London and worked as a reporter for the South Wales Echo and then the Evening News in London before turning to fiction. “Eye of the Needle” (1978), a Second World War spy novel, won the Edgar Award for Best Novel and made his name. In 1989 he published “The Pillars of the Earth”, the story of the building of a cathedral, which opened the Kingsbridge cycle continued by “World Without End” (2007), “A Column of Fire” (2017), “The Evening and the Morning” (2020) and “The Armour of Light” (2023). He also wrote the Century trilogy — “Fall of Giants” (2010), “Winter of the World” (2012) and “Edge of Eternity” (2014) — followed by “Never” (2021) and “Circle of Days” (2025).
