Kate Morton

Australian novelist, born in Berri, South Australia, in 1976 and raised in the mountains of southeast Queensland. Kate Morton studied drama and English literature at the University of Queensland and began her career as a stage actor before turning to fiction. Her literary suspense novels, set across generations and often centred on old houses and buried secrets, include The House at Riverton (2006), The Forgotten Garden (2008), The Distant Hours (2010), The Secret Keeper (2012), The Lake House (2015), The Clockmaker's Daughter (2018) and Homecoming (2023). Her books have sold more than fifteen million copies in over forty countries and have twice won the Australian Book Industry Association Book of the Year for Older Readers.
