Karin Slaughter is an American crime novelist, born on 6 January 1971 in Covington, Georgia. She made her debut in 2001 with “Blindsighted”, the first of the six Grant County novels, and began a second series in 2006 with “Triptych”, built around Georgia investigator Will Trent, which she has continued ever since. In 2025 she opened a third, North Falls, with “We Are All Guilty Here”, followed by “The Secrets We Hide” in 2026. Alongside them she has written standalone thrillers including “Cop Town” (2014), “Pretty Girls” (2015), “The Good Daughter” (2017) and “Pieces of Her” (2018). Her novels have been adapted for television as “Pieces of Her” (Netflix, 2022) and “Will Trent” (ABC, 2023). She founded Save the Libraries, a non-profit supporting American public libraries.
