Jenny Han

Jenny Han is an American writer of young-adult fiction, born on 3 September 1980 in Richmond, Virginia, to a Korean-American family. She studied at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and took an MFA in creative writing at The New School in 2006, the year of her first novel, “Shug”. Her Summer trilogy — “The Summer I Turned Pretty” (2009), “It's Not Summer Without You” (2010) and “We'll Always Have Summer” (2011) — was followed by the Burn for Burn trilogy, written with Siobhan Vivian, and by “To All the Boys I've Loved Before” (2014-2017). The latter became three Netflix films (2018-2021); she created and ran the Prime Video series “The Summer I Turned Pretty” (2022-2025) and co-created “XO, Kitty” for Netflix.
