Hervé Tullet is a French children's author and illustrator, born in 1958 in Avranches, Normandy. Trained in applied and decorative arts, he spent about ten years as an advertising art director before turning to books in the early 1990s. His work — more than eighty titles — is as much a game as a book: “Un livre” (Bayard, 2010), three coloured dots and an instruction to follow from page to page, won the French Prix Sorcières in 2011 and became an international bestseller in English as “Press Here” (Chronicle Books), which spent years on the New York Times children's picture book list. Later titles include “The Book with a Hole”, “Mix It Up!”, “Say Zoop!” and “Let's Play!”. He extends the work beyond the page through participatory workshops and exhibitions, among them “The Ideal Exhibition”.
