Helen Hoang is an American romance novelist, born in 1982 in Minneapolis to a Vietnamese immigrant family. Diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder in 2016, an experience that shaped her writing, she made her debut with The Kiss Quotient (2018), followed by The Bride Test (2019) and The Heart Principle (2021) — a trilogy featuring Vietnamese American characters on the spectrum. She lives in San Diego with her husband and children.
