Cressida Cowell

Cressida Cowell (born 15 April 1966 in London) is a British children's writer and illustrator. She studied English at Keble College, Oxford, and illustration at Brighton University. She is best known for How to Train Your Dragon, twelve books published between 2003 and 2015 by Hodder Children's Books and adapted into animated films by DreamWorks from 2010, and for the four-book series The Wizards of Once. She also writes the Emily Brown picture books. She was Waterstones Children's Laureate from 2019 to 2022.
