Chris Whitaker

British crime and literary-crime novelist, born in London and now based in Hertfordshire. Whitaker made his debut with Tall Oaks (2016), which won the CWA John Creasey New Blood Dagger. His novels All the Wicked Girls (2017), We Begin at the End (2020) and the young-adult thriller The Forevers (2021) followed. We Begin at the End won the CWA Gold Dagger for Best Crime Novel, the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year and the Ned Kelly International Award in 2021, and is in development for film with A24. His fifth novel, All the Colours of the Dark (2024), is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller, published in the United States as All the Colors of the Dark, and is being adapted by Universal Pictures.
