Anne Enright is an Irish novelist and essayist, born on 11 October 1962 in Dublin. She studied at Trinity College Dublin and creative writing at the University of East Anglia. She won the 2007 Man Booker Prize for The Gathering; The Forgotten Waltz received the Andrew Carnegie Medal, and The Green Road the Kerry Group Irish Fiction Award. She has also written short stories, essays and the non-fiction book Making Babies. In 2015 she was appointed the first Laureate for Irish Fiction. She lives in Dublin.
