Dean Haspiel

Dean Haspiel is an American cartoonist, born in New York City in 1967. He came up as an assistant to Howard Chaykin, Bill Sienkiewicz and Walter Simonson before turning to autobiographical and independent comics with his own series Keyhole. He created the romantic brawler Billy Dogma and the Brooklyn superhero The Red Hook, which won a Ringo Award for best webcomic in 2017. He drew Harvey Pekar's American Splendor stories and the graphic novel The Quitter, and Jonathan Ames's The Alcoholic; his title design for the HBO series Bored to Death earned him an Emmy in 2010. With Mark Waid he revived the Archie hero The Fox in 2013.
